hello guys, this is my first post here in the group
my name is cristiano, I'm a designer and programmer and I'm creating my own RPG game for Sega Genesis,
yhe name is Legend of Leyria.I'm creating a mangá too, this game.
Is there any way to put more than 4megabyte in a cartridge?
I started with BEX and now I'm using SGDK, here are some prototype images.
bye++

Looks nice, so far.
While, technically, 4MB is the maximum amount that the Genesis can address directly, nothing prevents you from adding bankswitching hardware to the cartridge itself, meaning you could have, in theory, as much memory as you're willing to use.
Also, as a (never used, so far) alternative: as long as you don't mind slower access times, you could add RAM to the cartridge plus some flash memory card reader to it, so you could stream whatever data you need from the card.

First of all, before going beyond 4MB consider looking into compression. You can cram in a lot more of data in the same space. In the case of a RPG, you should even look at compressing text (since there's a lot of it). For context: Phantasy Star IV is 3MB, and it's not a particularly short game.
If you really need to, then yeah you should probably look into the SSF2 mapper. Going with a SD card + RAM is going to be a pain and we have no standarized way to do that yet (and I don't even want to attempt suggesting anything anymore since it always ends up with several people telling me to just use a Mega Everdrive, ugh).

Sik is pronounced as "seek", not as "sick".

Another thing to consider is making it a CD game.

I'm surprised at those lights and shadows. Have you already planned how to make them a reality?
HELP. Spanish TVs are brain washing people to be hostile to me.
