Huge Spam bot attack

Hi all,

since 29 May 2013, Spritesmind is under attack ;)
A spam bot create several members per day with nothing but website.
No post so no ip to ban....
I had to find how it did this but I also need to clean the member list...

I discover some spam users were also created before this time.
So, I'll need to do a major request to clean them :

ALL USERS WITH A WEBSITE ON THEIR PROFIL AND NO POST WILL BE DELETED WITHIN A WEEK

It's the only way I had to be sure to clean everything...
But for now, I had to find the exploit it's using... :(

...Hello; longtime reader, first time poster. And to think it took this for me to finally post something.

I mainly signed up here cause I was curious how far beyond its limits MegaDrive/Genesis hardware and its add-ons (Sega/MegaCD and Genesis/Super32X) could be pushed. The many programming geniuses, including Chilly Willy, DJCouchyCouch and Nemesis to name a few do NOT dissapoint!

I am NOT a Bot, in fact, I experienced a similar thing months ago on Project 2612, bad enough that I volunteered to try to help weed the suckers out. It got so bad that I suggested to the founder to disable new Forum Regging until further notice. The Spambots have not come back since.

Anyways, keep this site awesome, dude!

Hi all,

I just deleted almost half of the members...
Sure it was a huge attack :(

I made some change to avoid this happens again but if you ever notice something strange, just send me a PM !

Time to get back to my Dad life, bye

yes...it's always when you're not available than problems occur :(
