Exodus is a cycle accurate Genesis/Mega Drive emulator with a focus on accuracy and you'll need a very fast system to run it. Sadly, your system isn't up-to par.

There are minimum system requirements listed on Exodus' website.

Have you tried updating your GPU drivers? Long shot, of course.

Not really, but generally people prefer Windows 7 over Vista. Same many prefer 7 over 8.

That error tells me the chances of Exodus working on XP x64 is slim to none (even though the system requirements say Windows XP or above), you'll probably need Vista x64 and higher (preferably Windows 7 x64).

The only thing I've noticed thus far is the random SEGA logo for Eternal Champions on soft reset it's always the same character when it *should* be random.

Same with X-Men 2 (using soft reset as the example here too) on soft reset, it's always the same character (Gambit for North America, Psylocke ...

Try when there's a lot of sprites on the screen.

Try running Comix Zone as a test, should be more intensive than most other games.

Okay, I've been testing X-Men 2's starting random character behaviour. On hard reset it's always Psylocke and on soft reset it's always Gambit. Anyone else confirm?

Are you using the stock cooler, third-party cooler or water? What FPS are you seeing on Sonic 2?

I can get full speed in a few games, however using Sonic 2 as a benchmark the FPS dips to 48 at its lowest on stock CPU clocks. So, really not too bad. This convinces me though that Saturn/Dreamcast ...

At 4.3GHz with 1.3~ voltage? Nice! That decides me, there's a i7-3770K in my future (along with a Maximus V and a Noctua NH-D14).

Personally, I'm thinking about going for the i7-3930K or the i7-3770K.

I suspect no AMD CPUs at stock clocks will be able to get full speed (maybe Piledriver overclocked to 5.0GHz). I still can't even when overclocking this X6, so yeah. Intel's probably the best bet for full speed.
