{"id":97,"date":"2011-03-06T21:56:51","date_gmt":"2011-03-06T20:56:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gendev.spritesmind.net\/wip\/?p=97"},"modified":"2021-06-29T22:37:37","modified_gmt":"2021-06-29T21:37:37","slug":"a-link-between-genny-and-flash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gendev.spritesmind.net\/wip\/2011\/03\/a-link-between-genny-and-flash\/","title":{"rendered":"A link between Genny and Flash ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My main job is RIA\/Flex\/Flash\/Actionscript specialist&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>I made some games\u00a0prototype on Flash (and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.willna.com\">released some<\/a>) but developping for Flash (oop\/vector) is very different from developping for Genny (no-oop\/bitmap)<\/p>\n<p>Last week, I found a interesting framework for Flash : <a href=\"http:\/\/flashpunk.net\/\">FlashPunk<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>FlashPunk is targeted towards games with 2D bitmap graphics, as opposed to vector graphics<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So basically FlashPunk fixes one of the differences : vector vs bitmap<br \/>\nI could now develop retro-style games using PNG file&#8230;If my PNG files are converted 16colors bitmap , I would be able to use the same (base) source to port it to Genny !<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll try to adjust my coding to make the sourcecode port easy (using SGDK functions name for ex)<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll see in the coming weeks (months?) if I succeed<br \/>\nIf yes, I&#8217;ll be able to make games for Genny and Android&#8230;so goooooooood !<br \/>\nAnd so motivation at its max and some money to help my research (electronic stuff&#8230;)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My main job is RIA\/Flex\/Flash\/Actionscript specialist&#8230;.
