Haha, some advertisement to say that Megacart is completed, ready for shipping... Just a few days to wait

For those who don't know about it, this cartridge have the fallowing features:
-Multibios (from cartridge, yes): play all discs on all models and all regions
-Backup Restore: 2000 blocks capacity (flash medium)
-Run std software (megadrive and 32x), up to 24MB... You can put up to 12 roms on the cartridge.
-Tototek computer adaptater retro-compatibility (you can flash from your computer)
-Segacd flashing features (you can flash from segacd disc).

Apparently, the cartridge run on MegaLD systems too...

I'm found this very strange assuming the hardware difference.

Now need check on Xeye, Wondermega and Aiwa systems.

Would you recommend the MegaCart for development (with the MegaCart adapter), or is the MD-PRO 64 a better choice?

I definitely want 32x support, but I'm not as interested in running roms. I would try one or two, but the biggest issue is development for the Genesis and 32x.

Any future plans to include development/debugging functionality to the MegaCart?

Megacart supports 32x roms. And it is cheaper than MDpro64... However, it don't support SRAM nor 32M games.

I personnaly find megacart quite usefull for segacd dev because i don't mind converting my DEV isos to my segacd region each time i build a new one...

What kind of debugging would you like to have?
It was planned to add comlink support to megacart bios... but i'm waiting for mask of destiny status.

would it be possible to add some ram in the card ? so it'd be possible to do a debugger using the trace vector no ? without allocating a space in md ram for running a debug program

There is no way to add a ram to this megacart hardware... sorry.

And how many ppl would buy it (it would cost 30usd, quick estimation) ?

Hi, interseting FlashCart. Tomy from Tototek showed me genny4ever some months ago. I am planning to buy one of these, but I have some quesions:

As I can see, its a 24 Mb Cart. But Some Games are bigger. So I would like to know if it makes sense to wait for a bigger Version (perhaps something is planned) or buy this one and just do not use bigger ones.

Which EXACT Sega/Mega CD Bios Versions are on this cart?

Is there somthing planned in direction of included SRAM?

I would get it, but I have no MCD and I've built all the hardware required to test/develop/enjoy whatever that runs on MD. Latest thing I built is 4MB (32Mb) flash cart (which I managed to damage somehow).

Yeah, but few games are bigger... We had to find a compromise between features/price/size...

JAP model1 and 2
USA model 1 and 2
Europe Model1 and 2...
You want the bioses exact models?

You know, megacart main feature is the multibios thing

Adding Sram would have increased the price for a sub-feature...

I wouldn't hide there is a next flash cart planned because i'm not here to cheat ppl... But it is on paper, wont be done this year, nor next year probably... Or wont be released at all.

Megacart showed that the interest is very minimal and it will decrease again with months now... (but the interested peoples are great, that's the point). So there is no point to develop the next hardware for now, thjat's too sad.

Believe me, there is reason enough to sell those carts. It will help me on a project to run MacOS on the MegaDrive and will give me the possibility to play my favorite games again. I will buy one asap. (When my studying money arrives)

Regarding the bioses. You need Model 1 and 2 bioses? Wouldnt Model 1 run with Model 2 Bios, too?

Hi,

Model2 hardware can run model1 bios.. however any other combinason generate glitches or hang (depends of the cdrom drive status at power on, probably).

Anyway, it is always safer to have good model bios with good hardware
