I've been told on sega-16 board that in some models of Megadrive, some aspects were enhanced (palette, colors ?) but nobody ever used it.
I've never heard about that, and my interlocutor doesn't remember exactly which models and which aspects...
Do you know more ?
Enhanced Tectoy Megadrive ?

Re: Enhanced Tectoy Megadrive ?
Aren't those the ones based on the same shit AtGames used? I recall those allowing more colors and more VRAM. Then again, there was at least one Tectoy clone which implemented a J2ME VM aside from the usual Mega Drive side (this was used for that Guitar Hero knock-off), of course that isn't going to be bound by the VDP limitations.
Reminds me, you can fix most of the sound in the AtGames crap by writing to a few registers… for some reason the default values are wrong. No idea about what it does with SSG-EG tho (it's clearly doing something rather than ignoring it but we never bothered to check exactly what).

Sik is pronounced as "seek", not as "sick".
