RealArcade Genesis emulation

Post by SmartOne » Sun Mar 28, 2010 2:18 am

Did you play any of these? I bought a bunch ($9.99 - $14.99 a pop!) about ten years ago. They were available on RealArcade. Sonic, Comix Zone, Vectorman, etc.

The emulation was quite good! I feel nostalgic using this specific emulator. There was even an "Enhanced Sound" option that modified some operator to smooth out Sonic's jump sound.

I used to be able to redownload activated versions from my account page. They've discontinued support, but my page says I can still redownload them. Doesn't work. :(

I think it was available at the real arcade from the company real.
It's now called gamehouse after a fusion:

But I don't know if you still can get the games.

I don't think so, because there is playSEGA now:

You can still get the demos here:

http://gamebundles.real.com/gamebundles/

Use the game ID:

http://gamebundles.real.com/gamebundles ... o.packages

Problem is the time limit. I can't unlock the games that I bought.

Was there any reason to use this pay per game emulation over the standard emulation for Genesis at the time? I don't remember this app/site.

I had a deal with Sega a long time ago, they used Gens sources for their Real Arcade emulator. I think they were quite disapointed when they received sources "Oooh my god, what a piece of crap ! How do this think can actually work !". Myself sometime i'm wondering ^^

Afaik it is, at this time (remember, almost 10 years ago) it was the "best" win32 genesis emulator but sources were already insames...
