Port Possible?

Post by Vortigem » Wed Jul 01, 2009 10:35 pm

What is the possibility of porting GBA games to either Sega CD or Sega 32x?

An example would be LotR: Return of the King for the GBA - designed much like the Diablo games.

To note, the game also supported system link for coop play, it may not be feasible, however it is an interesting idea.

32x, maybe. Sega CD, probably no.

Personally, what I would love to see is Metal Slug ported to mega cd.

It is possible, of course, but it will require writing all game code from scratch, plus converting resources. Also, source code of commercial games is unavailable, but even if you have it, you can't use it directly, because console games always heavily optimized for certain platform. So, source code can be used only as guide how to game logic supposed to work.
