Megadrive/Genesis clone with a keyboard?

Post by cdoty » Wed Feb 18, 2009 6:17 am

Are there any Genesis/Megadrive clone system that have a keyboard?

After seeing this project, http://playpower.org/, I wondered if it would be possible to use a Genesis/Megadrive clone instead of a NES clone.
The Genesis might be nicely suited to educational games.

There are few SMD clones with keyboard, like this one: http://magicgame.ru/catalog/sega_md/id-968/index.html

They were discussed on this forum, as far as I remember.

Couple years ago I've been attach standard PS/2 keyboard to MD via joystick port #2 (using #EXT interrupt!). It is not a big deal.

Less than $50 (around 35-45 depending from model).

Hello everybody.
Meet the new participant in your wonderful forum. I read the forum for a long time, learned a lot from here, so I decided to write.
I love SegaMD, I like to solder and fantasize.
Unfortunately, I did not receive an education in electronics and programming.
Therefore, my questions and statements may seem silly ...
But with these silly questions, I will bring revitalization to the discussions ... I hope so. :D

And now I will say why I wrote in this thread.
Because I was always fascinated by the "non-standard" use of things.
And it so happened that in my arms there are several Sega clones with keyboard support!
In particular, there is "Magistr16 fdd", also recently appeared "Magistr16 Bachelor" and "Cybord 005" (one of the variations of the Cyber Shell system). These are all Russian developments.
Began to browse here:https://atariage.com/forums/topic/18590 ... -keyboard/

A little earlier, the Chinese keyboard clone "Magic Teacher Computer GS-200N" was received
Photos, dump ROMs and more can be seen on the Russian forum:https://www.emu-land.net/forum/index.ph ... 057.0.html
