Re: Cart Design Questions

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think it's now a combination of factors or failures. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with the transport between the CPLD and the Arm, or the parent module which is requesting the data from the SDRAM, not just the SDRAM. Maybe the SDRAM is working fine, and ...

Re: Cart Design Questions

Thank you very much HardwareMan for taking time to help me out. As you can tell I'm very much a newbie with this stuff.

Thanks for your tip about bitwise with combinatorial logic - nowhere online in the tutorials I read did it mention that, that is really helpful info.

In the meantime I did some ...

Re: Cart Design Questions

So it's been a long time.
In between my last post I had some issues with my first hardware build, had another son, and have had outside work programming projects that took all my time.

I have put off some other things to get some progress done on this project as it was killing me, not being able to ...

Re: Perlin & Pinpin - The Robin Tower (2 episodes available!)

Hi Lizarddrive,
I finally had a chance to try your new demo.
I messed around with the first puzzle for a while and realised I had no idea how to solve slider puzzles properly, so I watched a few tutorial videos and then practiced with some javascript based slider puzzles online until I was confident ...

Re: Perlin & Pinpin - The Robin Tower (2 episodes available!)

Awesome, well done guys.
I haven't had time to work on my projects in a while but I've been thinking about your project and whether you have been able to work on it or not - I'm glad you have!
I look forward to trying it out soon.

Re: Current state of Genny dev carts?

I was in the same situation couchy,
It was painful swapping out the SD card, copy, eject, insert into everdrive clone, then wait to flash, then play.

I got an Everdrive X7 and haven't looked back. Yes it is expensive, but I justified it on account of wanting to make games well.
The USB connection ...

Re: KLog with mega-usb (Mega Everdrive X7) is possible?

There is an example released by Krikzz that may help you - it does exactly what you are looking for, sending strings of text from the MD to the computer via USB and the other way, strings of text from computer to the MD. It is on his network with the source code provided.
It's the basis of what I ...

Re: Aseprite Mega Drive Digitizer

Hi Troudki,
Sadly with other projects for work that I am doing outside work hours I have had little time to work on my MD stuff for the last year :(
The application I have made is very simple and should be compatible with most drawing programs as all it does is send over indexed PNG images through ...

Re: KLog with mega-usb (Mega Everdrive X7) is possible?

Hi cloudstrifer,
I'm not sure about the code you have posted sorry, but I have had success sending and receiving data from the MegaEverdrive x7 via USB by following the example code released by Krikzz.

I don't have my codebase here with me at work but I had to modify the ROM header to be like the ...

Re: Aseprite Mega Drive Digitizer

Also I should note, any graphics you need to send to the MD needs to be in indexed format in Aseprite. If you try to send something in RGB format it doesn't warn you and will error on the MD. For the next version I will get it to error out if the correct mode is not set.

To recover from an error on ...

Re: Aseprite Mega Drive Digitizer

Ah ok I worked it out. Sorry I should have mentioned, you need to rename the files to end with .zip.001 and .zip.002. Then 7zip (and hopefully other archiving programs) will successfully open the archive.
