Correct way to handle inputs

Hello, in my game i just use JOY_readJoypad in an update function, called in a loop.
But I just read those values are updated in a vsync function, so I may miss some inputs right ?
If so, whats the correct way to handle it ? maybe add a joy callback and buffer it to be sure ?

Hello, I'm facing a problem, the SGDK flash-save sample doesn't work with Blastem, does it supports SRAM saves ? I just tested Sonic 3 and it works, but it is FRAM. Working on ai human but its glitchy..

Note: i fixed all sync issues, and lowered ram usage, but it crashes somewhere, after sometimes.. will investiguate.

I rewrited the entity component system, there no more alloc in the build, should be stable. https://downloads.kstorm.org/md/nightmare_fuel_v0.0.2.bin Although, I updated to the latest SGDK version, using the awesome new XGM2 driver (6650Hz to crunch things), and enabled sprites compression. Thanks, yes its a hard decision. Played a bit with banking, didnt know it was kind of automatic with sgdk (it is manual on gbdk, had to handle bank switch in the music player). Thanks! Yes no gta like on megadrive, but surely some open world out there.
I just put a test rom here : kstorm.org/rom.bin (no sound)
I will open a thread on Demos when I'll achieve to pack all things together.
