Re: Forum update this week

I had to report the update to this week, in 2 days.

In the meantimes, I had to block traffic from China.
Sorry about that but my provider almost locked my hosting because of too many calls per second this month.
I'll remove this lock after the update and will monitor the traffic.

Re: HDD (or flash) instead of a CD, questions...

Since we're now in 2025, i looked if I could use 3.3V components.

I focused on the I2S part because these kind of protocol is not fond of level shifters....
I looked to LC7883) and LC8951 datasheets and it seems they handles 2.2V minimum signals like HIGH level.
My problem is that all the lines are ...

I saw DSView is based on sigrok...does it mean decoder follow the same rule than for sigrok ?
if yes, I already know how I could write a command/status decoder and a subcode decoder ;)

Re: HDD (or flash) instead of a CD, questions...

On the CXD2500AQ datasheet, it's written
The contents of the subcode interface can be externally read in two ways.

The Game Processor get subcodes using the first way : P-W through SBSO, EXCK based.
It make sense since MCD support CD+G and so needs more than only subcode Q.

These subcodes can ...

Re: HDD (or flash) instead of a CD, questions...

so if I raise SCOR, put anything I want on the 2 first S0S1 bits of the Q subchannel, here we go ?

The more I dig on this SYNC stuff, the less I understand...because if we're logic, S0S1 is 2x8 bits so it disables 2bits on P-W
But any (even official) docs I read talk about 98 bytes for everyone ...

Re: HDD (or flash) instead of a CD, questions...

I'm stuck trying to understand the sub part....well, the S0S1 bytes in fact
I know I could only focus on Q sub but...well....I want to know and understand.

PQRSTUVW are encore on 96+2 frames, 1 bit per frame
Only the 96 last frames are really used for subcode because the 2 first frames are used to ...

Re: HDD (or flash) instead of a CD, questions...

I updated the project page with most of the informations I had for now on the CDC.
its based on this thread, on CDD_inf.txt, on GensisPlusGX source code and several technical manuals available.

There is still some missing bits and, unfortunately, all captured data by HardwareMan are lost (I get the ...

Re: Script to convert RGB Images to Mega Drive "format"

Years ago, I made a HD image converter based on ToyStory trick : tiles on 2 plans, to offer 30 colors (2 pals with 0 index transparent)

Could you tool do the same ? I'll be interested by the result ;)

Re: The world has changed

Tmee already said everything ;)

Genny dev today is equal to SDGK dev so everyone is on SGDK support's Discord.
Discord allows quick question/answer, etc... so it's a very good media for that.
I'm pretty sure a lot of informations (not SGDK related) are lost this way but, at the same time ...
