Re: 2 Layer LX9 Board Design
I only had the one AT25SF041 and pretty sure I binned it after hot airing it off. No worries! Meanwhile the board is with my brother ~600miles away (I built it as a birthday present). Wow! What a great brother you are! Mine are shit! :-) I think it was an oscillator problem on the Cypress chip I ad...

Re: 2 Layer LX9 Board Design
Also, the problem with the Cypress chip might well be an oscillator problem. The layout for both the oscillator and the USB signals is quite sensitive, but I have got it working on a home-made two-layer board before - the thing to be sure of is that you don't route the oscillator signals or the USB ...

Re: 2 Layer LX9 Board Design
Hi Dan181, great work. If you still have a board with the AT25SF041-SHD-T soldered to it, I'd be happy to work with you to get it added to the programmer code as a supported part. It should be quite easy to do, if you have actual hardware to test it on.

Re: How to build firmware (UMDK Menu + Monitor)?
Sorry I've not been around lately. Was it just a bad connection that was causing problems? Are you all sorted now? I intended for the basic signal test to catch things like bad connections on the cart.
BTW, feel free to send me a pull-request on GitHub to implement SDHC.

Re: MD hangs after playing any PCM file
Do you have Super Street Fighter II (The New Challengers)? That has some quite tight timing on the DMA. It was my go-to test ROM for timing issues.

Re: MD hangs after playing any PCM file
Excellent, well done! I'll try your VHDL change on my hardware when I have a minute (which won't be for a few weeks).

New Wiki: Building UMDK tools on Windows
Several people have been asking about using UMDK on Windows, so I wrote a wiki to help people get up and running . The Windows build still needs an owner, someone who is willing to help users and bring UMDK-on-Windows up to the same usability standard as UMDK-on-Linux. The most pressing thing is to ...

Re: MD hangs after playing any PCM file
you can use any fpga pin for a clock OUTPUT pin, DCM'ed or not does not matter It's been a while since I looked into this, so I don't remember the details, but it's all in this thread on the Xilinx forums. I think it'd be worthwhile to try it out before you route your board. To do it properly an OD...

Re: MD hangs after playing any PCM file
The only difference is that I'm getting rid of AS completely I think the only place /AS is used is to distinguish between CPU (i.e Z80 or 68000) cycles and DMA cycles in the trace log. I have a small project on the go to "replay" UMDK trace logs into a 68000 emulator (probably Musashi, which is use...

Re: MD hangs after playing any PCM file
Sorry for hijack but I decided to take a more "drastic" approach That is awesome, great work! Please bear in mind the new information that amushrow's painstaking detective-work has brought to the table in this thread though: the instability seen during 68000/Z80 bus arbitration on a small number of...

That is very cool. You should put your name in the copyright message instead of mine though - I don't want to take the credit[1] for it!
So forgive my ignorance but how exactly do the diodes and resistors achieve the level-conversion?
