Active Disassembly
Hello all, I've tried to run mortal kombat (rev 01) on the newest version of exodus 2.1 and found that it randomly locks up and does not even allow for a crash report. Additionally, im curious how to go about getting a good clean asm output of the dis-assembly. are there documented steps for this? I...

USB Communication
Just curious if anyone has been able to send data outa via the high speed USB port yet. Any examples or even a hardware register list perhaps or read/write rules when accessing the USB port?

Re: XBAND, Mega Net 2, and Mega Drive Keyboards
MegaNet2 IS xband basically. the cartridge is slightly different obviously but its the same os, and there is some info about catapult striking a deal with tectoy in brazil on this.

Re: Mega Everdrive USB programming
Ive done a server/client test sometime back. Although its hacky I can share some of the code if you wish. Server is written in C# and client in ASM. I used this to test streaming music files, but the connection is too slow or unreliable to work properly. Yes this would be a tremendous help! Please ...

Mega Everdrive USB programming
Does anyone have an example of writing to the usb port in assembly for the mega everdrive from the megadrive side?
I believe it has write protection of some sorts that has to be disabled before writing to the port but i have not really seen any example of anyone utilizing this just yet.

Re: Networked Genesis hardware
It has been done this way with xband and has been proven to work. There are other things at play here but this is only a prototype still. There are still hardware things that can be tapped into to synchronize and software that accounts for both sides having the controller data before actually writin...

Re: Hardware and Software Developers Needed for Project
When the time comes, yes we will need testers. Currently as it sits, my own prototype proof of concept works but we are only just in the initial stages of talking about re-working the hardware right now. Hopefully this keeps moving along and is pushed into a full fledged newer prototype or even bett...

Re: Hardware and Software Developers Needed for Project
Xband source can be found here. Its not all of what i was able to get but its a good chunk. There really is no snes code here its all genesis/megadrive There is game patch source for super street fighter 2, nba jam, mk2. Its missing some vital stuff like hardware equates but most of the xband os cod...

Re: Hardware and Software Developers Needed for Project
Did NOT see this thread prior to posting what i just did here: http://gendev.spritesmind.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2403 I have created basically what you are asking for OJC... its just not communicating over ethernet/internet yet and i have acquired sources and docs from the original xband auth...

Networked Genesis hardware
I currently have developed a prototype setup of hardware based on the arduino mega 2560 to allow for multiplayer sega genesis 2 player games over a serial connection. I wont get into too much specifics but it basically shares controller joystick data between both machines and uses a game genie on ea...

Re: 74HC157 To controller port pinouts
Thank you very much for that. That helps quite a bit and is much better than the diagram i was using.
Im building a custom controller circuit for a project and just needed something fairly well labeled and this definately does the job.
Thanks again!!

Re: 74HC157 To controller port pinouts
I was looking at the diagram again and found something else interesting. Im assuming the values listed on the chip (a1,a2....) are somewhat incorrect as well? Comparing this to a standard 74hc157 chip im finding that the pin numbers the schematic above lists vs what the pinout of the 74hc157 chip ar...

74HC157 To controller port pinouts
Anyone happen to have a simple diagram of the 74HC157 interfacing with the controller port on the megadrive? Ive found one here but its somewhat confusing and appears that there may be what looks like an extra line(3a) just after the pin listed for the dpad right "button" (2b) http://gamesx.com/wiki...
