Yamaha was hurt in the quake.
I tried using a VPOM module thing of a YAMAHA soundchip - forget which one - some kind of virtual instrument with a yamaha MIDI controller last year and of course I could not make heads nor tails of it, of YM synthesis. However in reading about YM synthesis, I learned about the inventor and this piece of music he did in 1971, Stria, which is nice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=988jPjs1gao
