Regen - Camera shy?

Post by Hiryu »

Whenever I try to use AVI recording, the emulator closes itself. This even happens when I use a screen recorder.

Sorry for a bit late reply as free time is a rare for me these days.

But anyways, AVI recording is broken is this version as its mentioned in the change list. But you can get it to work :) . Enable "VSync", "Turbo Mode" and "Superfast Rendering". Restart the emulator, and try to record the AVI again. It should work.

I will recommend that you get the "ZMBV" codec (from DOSBox project) which works well with Regen and should be fairly fast and offers good compression (until I can get Snake to open up his codec ;) ).

Well thanks for replying, better late than never! :D

Aw, that stinks. You see I'm doing a series on corruptions and this is the only emulator that will actually play corrupted games, all the others flash a red screen.

Also, I tried doing what you said and it still closes. The Superfast rendering produces a messed-up emulation screen as well.

I've downloading ZMBV codec and hopefully look forward to using it if I can get it to work right.

Err, no it isn't, most emulators have a 'fix checksums' option, you just need to turn it on.

 ...Is that so? Thanks for the tip.

EDIT: I found one emulator that had the Autofix Checksum option and after a couple of hours of experimenting with Hypercam, I can record movies from Gens. Thanks for the help.
