Hi Zoomer,
That is strange. If it is saving fine it should not crash. I'll see this problem.
Also the ability to select different file from 7zip and zip will be available in the next version.

Can you please update the feature request list? I am starting to forget.

Hi,
I am trying to gather some performance data of Regen. Anybody using Regen please post the max framerate you are getting with 0.77 (that is, the turbo mode on) using 'None' video plugin along with you PC specs (processor, RAM and video card only).

Doesn't framerate depends from some other settings and exact game?
Zero Tolerance, in-game (right when first level starts), SuperHQ mode on. 310-320 FPS (btw, right part of number is slightly out of window). P4 3.0 GHz, 1GB, GF4 Ti4200 128MB.

Framerates:
- When MD is not using sound: 273 FPS
- When MD is using sound: 245 FPS
Notice I'm talking when the MD is using the sound or not. The sound emulation has always been turned on. Also I need to check more games, as none of those used shadow/highlight, raster effects (in the places I checkded) and such.
Specs:
- Intel Celeron (I don't remember the exact model, P4 compatible at least) @ 3.06GHz
- 512MB RAM
- GeForce 7300 GS 256MB RAM Forceware 163.75 beta (don't ask me why I didn't upgrade, nVidia is researching why the lo-res modes disappear in higher drivers in my system)
- 80GB hard disk (total)
- Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (5.1.2600)
Forgotten the sound card

Hi,
Yes, I forgot to mention the game

. Sonic 3D selection screen (where you select Game Start, Options etc..). It is very intesive on the VDP.
EDIT: SuperHQ turned on and no Stretch.
EDIT2: I get ~376 fps and my specs are Pentium M 1.7 GHz, 512 MB, onboard Intel 915 GM GFX card.

Just to let all of you know, when I use my own 68k core (written in x86 asm) I get 568 fps

. I will be releasing Regen with this core in about 2-3 months since many games don't work with it.

- Windowed mode: 272 FPS
- Full screen mode: 177 FPS
Hey, that isn't normal o_o' Oh, yeah, full screen has a bigger resolution... Make Regen to be able to set a different resolution when going full screen.
Also, test with maximum settings:
- Windowed mode: 203 FPS
- Fullscreen mode: 132 FPS
Anyways I notice that the sound plays like cut, as if Regen wasn't fast enough to feed the system (with Turbo turned off already, that is).

Hi,

Well, that is really the case. In v0.77 DirectSound code was modified to keep the write position always ahead of play position even if it had to skip some samples thus you notice the skipping. Although it should not happen if you are even getting 57 fps. I have noticed that skipping happens around when fps fall below 56. Are you using the NTSC filter? That is really slow you know but not slow enough to give those fps on your system. I have a P4 2.8 GHz and everything runs fine on it.

Adding to my todo list

. This was requested sometime ago but I always left it because of some other things getting in the way. Will do it this time now.
BTW, What did you turned on when you said maximum settings?

Hi,
I have a question. Why is Regen at the various window resolutions slightly smaller than Kega's windowed resolutions at the same size?
Thanks!

I thought Regen was losing framerate but from the tests I've just made it seems like it goes at full speed. Weird. And no, I'm not using the NTSC filter, part due to the slow down (through I didn't really check that in 0.8 when in non-turbo mode really) but mainly because none of the four settings actually match what's shown really on TV. I used NTSC real hardware, and they don't look like that.
AamirM wrote:BTW, What did you turned on when you said maximum settings?
SuperHQ, lowpass filter, NTSC filter, etc. Mainly everything that causes slow down. Except for VSync, because I don't think the turbo mode would have liked that
EDIT: I've just made a program that crashes on Regen. It works on Fusion... and nothing else D: It used to work in Regen before through, so no idea what's up. Trust me, I don't do anything strange :/
http://srb2town.sepwich.com/junk/nfight.bin
Somebody confirm if this works on the real hardware anyways.

This program is exploiting a bug in the new Musashi version. Thanks for it. Now I will be able to find this bug easily

(I hope) . It will work until version 0.5 after which the musashi core was updated. The newer one has been giving some problems and I am thinking of putting the old one back in.

Tiddo reported that it was acutally slightly larger on his PC. Are you using Vista?
