Pingouin Bleu + Source

Hi,

Pingouin Bleu is a horizontal shmup.

A to shoot
B to switch between three weapons
C to "grab" things, but it's a prototype feature and only works on the red spinning guys. I figured I'd keep it in for fun.

Pick up stars left by defeated enemies to boost your weapon meter. More stars equals upgraded weapons.

You can find the source here:

The readme.txt has instructions on how to build. It requires the Graphics Gale galefile.dll for it to convert .gal files to .c and it's a separate download.

Let me know if you're seeing any problems.

If you just want the binary to play with, you can find it here:

Should work on hardware.

Thanks,
djcc

But how did you find the time X'D ??
Honestly it's a shame the game is not any longer as it gets really fun to play ! I'm really impressed and i just got a look on the code, everything in done in C, very well done :) The code is also really well organized, it doesn't require much to have a full game (just level design and some boss actually).

I just whip these up in a day. :)

Ok, ok. I'm kidding. It takes me about a weekend.

Hi djcouchycouch

Both Violence Pinguin and this one are very good demos ;-)

Why don't you continue them ? Have you moved to newer projects ?

I wanted to know something about these 2 games, Do they run at 30 or 60 fps ?

I remember your earlier GoPlane test was running at 60 fps, is it the same case here ?

I'm actually coding for a platform jump and run game and I already forgot the 60 fps option ;-P I think I want too much special details that makes it impossible.

Bon boulot !
J'ai hate de voir tes prochains release, toujours surprenant et bien realise ;-)

They're all supposed to run at 60fps. At least, I hope they do!
Why don't you continue them ?
Once I reach the proof-of-concept stage, it's hard for me to keep at it. The amount of effort required between the proof-of-concept and an actual finished project is enormous and I don't have the time and work throughput necessary to complete them. I'd probably need an extra year or two just to finish one.
Have you moved to newer projects ?
I'm thinking about the next things I want to do, so I'm currently exploring. 3d? Different console? Web stuff? Unity?
Both Violence Pinguin and this one are very good demos
