.NET for my next tool ?

.NET for my next tool ?
All the tools I made were an experience for me...
with B2T, I learned DOS GFX programming and Bitmap handling
with KMod, I learned Dialog Box and DC programming
with the others, I learned Windows and its controls programming
I now would like to learn .NET...so here is my question :
Does a tool in .NET (so using the .NET framework) will be used ?
if you don't want, tell me what please

Well, i don't like much DOTNET (even if i'm paid to dev in c#) for small tools because you'll force people to download a 30mo framework for running a 40ko exe. Depend of the kind of tool
Also, some People here are still running with win98, i don't know if it's compatible.
I voted no, coz myself i'd not release a dotnet tool, it's just my personnal opinion, but if you do tools with, i'd use them anyway (i already have all the frameworks).

+1 for Pascal
But let us not forget why we're (partially) here for : to learn.
I'm in for fun with Genesis, but it was also to learn 68k programming.
So if you want to learn .NET, and by the way, enhance KMod, it's your will, it's your life. Noone could (should) prevent you to do this.
Do what you want, it will always be the best way.
... but I have to admit that I won't be able to use it @work : we're sticked on Win2000 SP3, and absolutely no right.
So, while I do say that you've got to do what you want, whatever it is, I'm sorry to tell you I won't use any .NET.
I won't vote this poll.

but there's a advantage to use Dotnet is to be cross platform, there's the "mono" framework www.mono-project.com , which allow you to run on linux without much hassle.
Actually i was wrong to vote 'no', as i admit, it's really hard to choose a programming language, all of them got theirs fors and cons. So all depend on you, and your motivation. As i'm sure your tools gonna rock , i don't mind using a dotnet programmed tool i'm just worried for people with win98 or 'locked' desktop.

I'm one of the WIN98SE users who will stick to it forever and if the software won't run on it I won't use that software anymore. If you're wondering why I like Win98SE so much, it is so because 80% of the programs I have are for MS-DOS and in my mind Win98SE is the best platform for DOS stuff (well, real DOS is better of course). Well, I have very well tuned Win so it might run things pretty well.
