Right,

as the screenshot link from the other thread is dead, and thus people wouldn't know what it actually is about, here is a new thread for "OergoEchoTraXorz", the working title for this Echo sound tracker I am making.

Here are two very early WIP screenshots:

Excuse the crudeness, I spent most of the time reinventing the wheel by making a tile-based bitmap graphic renderer (sort of like what the MD has) :)

Cheers.

Oh, this looks very promising. I hope the sample playback will be more acurate in the tracker than it is in deflemask (at least the pitch).

I was actually thinking about writing my own sound driver + tracker from scratch, but now I'm not sure if the effort would be worth it ;)

Some UI work. Scrollbar fixing is next :P

railslave: MIDI Controller support will be done at the very end, if at all. I have zero experience writing MIDI stuff.

In fact, I have zero experience writing audio software. This is just because noone else would do it :P

twosixonetwo: The PCM playback should be pretty accurate, as PCM playback is bound to YM timers in Echo. Of course it can never actually be 100% accurate, but you should not hear any *pitch* difference.

Cheers
Eric

Very awesome. Now if only I had some talent to make something pleasant using a tracker.

Can I suggest that the display support enharmonic equivalents?

i.e. through an options menu it could be selectable to either display notes as sharps or flats? Eb vs. D#, etc...
