I was looking some information about the Cinepak codec used in some games and I discovered this: http://www.cinepak.com/text.html.
It seems that there is a new Cinepak compressor which is much better than the old one (more detail, less artifacts etc) and produces movies compatible with the old decoder (Sega CD included).
Fonzie, what do you think about it?, Is it useful for your Equinoxe codec?.

Yeah, interesting page... I'm not sure if they really output compatible movies for megacd/segacd as those movies must be extremely tweaked/customized on their data structure compared to the windows .cinepak files.
The site is very old and some parts are down ^^ I'll try an email.
As for my equinoxe codec... héhé... I ended with a average solution (9fps, 192*144px screen, loosely compression) ^^... But since our last discusion about VBLANK vs VDRAW time and the trick to increase per almost two the DMA bandwidth... I got new ideas
Thx for the link
