NEO Myth MD YM2413 - Whats it doing?

I recently bought a NEO Myth MD off the internet in pursuit of some way to listen to music on Genesis hardware, but I've suddenly realized that the cartridge has a built in YM2413.

Looking at the chip it's obviously inferior to the 2612, so I can't imagine it would be taking it's place somehow? If not, does anyone know exactly what the 2413 is going to do while I'm playing Genesis games?

That's for SMS games. You can run SMS games on the MD Myth (without a 32X... same issue as the PBC), with or without FM support. The default of the menu is to run SMS with FM.

When running MD or 32X games, it does absolutely nothing.

Thanks, That's great news, Although I was almost kind of hoping it kept the music from cutting out when sound effects play or something to that tune
