I see these "ugly" bars in any case, just 75% less in 60Hz :) "Ugly" bars 4EVR !!!!!!!!

I couldn't tell due to your choice of games to show but does the code generate the overscan color per-line based on VDP$07? If not, then it's not really accurate :)

There is a menu in your TV to help you set your desired resolution. Though, this is also affected by the movie disc that you are watching. Both must be compatible.
