are the horizontal and vertical scrolls strange only to me?

For anything related to VDP (plane, color, sprite, tiles)

are the horizontal and vertical scrolls strange only to me?

is it a feature or maybe my RCA cable or cheap TV distorts video output?
1 pix scroll distorts a bit: the pixels are blurred a bit.
4 pix scroll distorts substantially: the pixels are blurred very much and "jumping".
it seems that the pixels are blurred somehow "manually" not by their own "motion". i tried to record it on video and it is clearly visible that even just one pixel scroll for one frame makes all the screen blurred.

RCA magic filter :)
Just get a RGB cable and you won't see that anymore...
The genesis video encoder is also responsible of some nasty effects as rainbow but still a RGB cable will improve greatly your image.

Thanks a lot Stef. I will order one today.
Friend of mine advised me recently to buy such SCART RGB cable but I forgot about it.

By the way don't you know which one do most of mega drive / genesis community use? RGB or still RCA? I would like my game to be playable well on the most popular one. If it would be RCA i would do something to "defeat" it somehow. If it is not I will be very happy. The friend told me that it is likely that RGB one is more popular amongst the sega mega drive community but he doesn't know for sure.

RGB is more popular for whatever community as soon the system does support it ;)
The RCA connector is the worst one in term of quality (also the cheapest one).

Thanks a lot Stef for the information.
I have just got RCA cable with console.
Already ordered RGB one.

RCA cable quality is disgusting. i don't know why it exists at all. it's not a cable but a generator of statics.

You're welcome ;)
RCA cable exists because is the cheapest cable for video.
Honestly the first thing to do with these RCA cables is to replace them with S-Video or even better, RGB cable when possible.

I run all my machines on RGB when supported. NES is the only one on composhit, C64 and N64 are on S-video.

LCDs and plasmas are more and more in use.
I personally only use CRT with "non HD" game consoles.
