It will be distributed as ROM file. You will be able to read it using gamepad (emulator or flashcart).

How often?
Every 2nd month.

I will do graphics and music (hope not alone - other chipmusicians will support it too!).Coder will do engine (hypertext like?)Authors/writers will do reviews (games,demos,hw,interviews,top10 homebrew,top10 vgm).

Shouldn't it be called a cartmag in this case? (for that matter, Stuck Somewhere In Time is a musiccart, not a musicdisk)

I think first you should put effort into getting the content, arrange it up, create some mockups and then you'll have something concrete to show to someone who will be implementing things. It'll narrow down the scope and allows to focus on exactly how to make the content presentation a reality.

OK I will do.
Best will be to have some kind of universal engine:
- txt file for text with some kind of script (like html)
- vgm or tfm music player
- picture viewer (pixelart -> png/bmp to sega format)
- reading up/down page
- left/right next page
Animated gif? For intro?

Perhaps you could use something like Marp as a starting point:

Basically, you could parse the markdown source, and generate C files from it. Image conversion would be needed, and perhaps text compression, too.

Another option would be to use Markdown directly inside the ROM. It's pretty easy to parse:

It would be fun to do something like that  like our old retro diskmags
Simple Menu and articles or picture. 2 plans, one for title article and number of page at the bottom and the other plan for scrolling text.

Did this project die before it got started?

Diskmags are awesome.
(And yes, they're still called diskmags even though they're on a cartridge, or online as a website, or run from harddisk, or a disc).

I think it's sad diskmags are mostly dead nowadays. I often browse Pouet.net for any new diskmag releases. A website will never give the same coziness that a diskmag gives.

I created www.8bitMemoirs.com - a diskmag'ish eBook about the 8-bit era as I experienced it. It runs on Blu-ray players. So you download the ISO and burn it to a disc. Or you play the ISO with a software media player like VLC.
You can also stream the project with Kodi from HTTP source instead of downloading the whole thing.

I chose Blu-ray as the platform because the project contains a lot of videos. I also thought I'd be able to reach a bigger audience by using Blu-ray. Everyone with PlayStation 3 or 4 or Xbox One. Or if you don't have a livingroom player, or a hardware media center that supports BD-J, then you'll always have VLC or Kodi on your PC.
But that was because I was targeting people in many different retro communities. A diskmag mainly about Genesis should of course run on the Genesis. :)

So what is status on this project?
