Your next toy.

Hi all, if you've folowing recent posts about the umdk manufacturing, you know we're testing some nice kits. Since some of the original testers had RL issues we've got short on people testing.

We have already succeded and the kit is running, but we want to do some more extensive testing to make sure the manufacturer is reliable to a certain degree.

So i'm asking for 5 more people interested in ordering a kit AND participating into testing (in the software thread).

The total cost for unit (for a 5x run) is about 170$, shipping included . So, first come first served, post below and send mail to fenix_awing@hotmail.com
with complete name, address and phone.

Ill update this post.

No, its not guaranteed it will work, this run is for testing purposes.

I'm searching for more participants into the software testing thread. Thats it.

But who will spend the money only for the chance of good testing results?

Grind , did it
mikejmoffitt, did it
mswan, did it
Burbruee, did it
And me, i did it.

But nevermind, your only interested in getting the final product. This will never will have a 100% working guarantee, its an amateur project.

Of course, you can grab the components and manufacture it for yourself, some people did it before. I'm only tring to make things easy for others.

Here you have all you need:

As I know, because they didn't know about that UMDKs will not work.

Yes, they knew. Absolutely.

It was clearly explained in the original post, and in the private mails. they know what they are doing.

You have not read anything of whats going on. I dont care i you dont want to get involved but please dont lie.

Yes, Montserrat was very clear about the process from the very beginning and the chance that our kits might not work before we ordered and paid. Both here and in private emails between all of us.

I went in it with the expectation that there WOULD be hardware and software faults getting the kits we ordered to run and a chance that they might never work at all if there were issues on the hardware side in the manufacturing process. That it would take a lot of tinkering and work on the software side and us testing things and doing various hardware checks and inspections. In fact I did not anticipate that we would get any sort of results before the end of the year. I thought if we got them working it would take until January or so. So I was surprised we got our kits to the point where we are now so fast in fact.

We were all 100% clear on the circumstances. Nobody expected a polished, finished, guaranteed-to-work-immediately product.

I'm interested (and I understand the risks involved) provided you ship to the UK, and don't require payment before 28th Jan (I'm in the middle of moving house). Is this feasible?

You can order one if you want the manufacturer will do it for you, but they print a minimum of 5 pcb per run. SO its gonna cost you much more, like 250-300$.

Thats why i insisted into getting 5 people for another run, it will cut the cost down to 170$.

User danibeni was interested too. He told me via PM.

If we can get the number up to 5, then I would like to be one of them. I'll throw you an email later today :)

Neither me nor Montserrat can post on sega-16 in the 'Blast-Processing' section of the forum as you have to fulfil some criteria but it would be an idea to ask on there as there are numerous hackers and developers on that site:

I would like to have another UMDK kit myself but I cannot afford it as present so I shall hold off for now.
