My old and very buggy, incomplete and slow NES emulator

Post by tails92 » Wed Aug 11, 2010 9:32 pm

This my old, very buggy, incomplete and slow NES emulator. But hey, it works on a Megadrive! It was written last year in March by using Stef's devkit, in C. But unluckily I've lost the source code to it.

Only mapper 0 ROMS are supported, and to change the NES ROM you simply have to replace it at the 512th Kilobyte of the Megadrive ROM of the emulator.

Interested? Get it at http://tails92.sepwich.com/files/megadr ... inball.zip

Nintendo Pinball is included. It "runs" at 1fps. Unplayable, though.

If I remember well one of the red strings in the top-left corner should be the program counter.

Enjoy. :D

P.S: And this is not reposting, everyone knows what small room their personal website is :P

As I told you already, this is one of the coolest things I've seen on MD. Hopefully, you'll rewrite and improve it one day ;).

Now someone should make it in assembly, and get unbeliveable and whopping speed increase.. to 2-3 FPS! Well, actually more, but barely playable. So it is cool experiment, and proof of concept, but I think, there is no real need to restore the sources etc.

I reposted it at the DevSter forums, it should get more popular now.

Impressive, but what's the controls!
