Virtua Racing Test Mode GameGenie Code

Post by Orion_ » Wed Feb 17, 2016 12:34 pm

While trying to understand the SVP code of Virtua Racing
(I wanted to write my own SVP code, but well, no assembler, and too much headaches understanding the svp hardware)
I found a way to get access to the Test mode that Notaz is talking about in his SVP doc.
It's pretty useless but here is the GameGenie Code: REAT-E61A
(it just replace the test mode cmp/bne by a nop)

Edit: I just found out that this code was already found ... Oh Well ... sorry for the useless topic
No body tried to write his own SVP code ? assembler ? That would be neat

So wait, Virtua Racing works with the Game Genie after all?

I know you can't get in to the game with the GG attached. It just shows a black screen IIRC. Maybe you can at least get as far as that test menu?

Well the test doesn't seem to be failing so obviously the SVP itself isn't the problem? Actually does it ever check getting the SVP to run or only accessing memory?
