From my experience, memory watch is just that. To keep a display of a certain byte/word/whatever of an address. Breakpoint!=watch, though I'm sure some debugger somewhere switches around the terminology.
Yeah. Watch - it's for simply to track some values in memory in realtime. Breakpoint at access - stop the main program, when it's trying to access to some place (wich, for example, forbidden or controlled), like exception on x86 by GPF.

Hi,

Sorry to all for the late reply. My ISP company had some problems so I didn't had internet connection for over two week. Now its fixed and I am back in business. But I did not waste my time. I have improved the YM2612 emulator to a level where it is as nearly accurate as Kega! :shock: . I wil post a beta version of it here soon.

Now about some problems:

The DMA fill operation was fixed in 0.7 so Contra should now be fixed.

The VBLANK timings are a little off right now. Eke reported them earlier. I haven't looked into this for a looooong time.

About the sound problems except Alisia Dragoon (JU) I could not detect any other problems may be the updated FM core has fixed them.

stay safe,

AamirM

Hi,

You can download the Regen 0.77 beta from here. Notice the new "SuperHQ" mode. One needs a bit faster PC to run this. This is only for Pentium 4 and above right now. This may still have bugs related to DirectSound as I have rewritten major parts of it just today and did not gave it much testing. Do tell me how it goes and whether it fixes the sound problems. Please note that the DAC may be incorrect in some places. Do not consider it to be finished.

EDIT:
See the included readme for list of changes.

@ TmEE co.(TM)

I could not detect or reproduce the problem you reported and that is why I was unable to fix it.

stay safe and enjoy,

AamirM

Hi,

Could you please copy-paste the "Video" section of the config file(regen.ini)?

BTW, Can I get the program you are running in the emulator? Seems cool.

I use default configuration (just download and run it as is).

Code: Select all

[Video]
WindowSize=2
VSync=0
VideoPlugin=-1
TurboMode=0
FastBlit=0
Stretch=0
DisableSpriteLimit=0

What is your desktop depth set to? Also, did it happen in 0.6?

BTW, the Duck Tale music in your program is awesome :wink: . I have just added the limiters to the FM core so you won't hear the little chirpyness at the end when drums are played.

Always 32 bit. I have not tested 0.6 version. My configuration: Intel Celeron D 3GHz, 1Gb RAM, GeForce 7300GT 1280x1024@75Hz DVI LCD, Sound Blaster Audigy MP3 Player+ SB0090, Windows XP SP2 Corporate RUS.
AamirM wrote:BTW, the Duck Tale music in your program is awesome :wink: .
It is cover by Shiru. ;)
Hmm... When I used 16 depth bit it is OK...

Hi,

@ HardWareMan

Can you test if the lowpass filter bug happens on the version available from here?

Yes, it happens. And bug with system message at 32 bit depth.
BTW, if I run emulator without "FONT" folder - it crashes.

How can I do this, if it crashes right after showing it window? I just copy "FONT" folder from another copy of Regen.

You can turn them off by disabling "Misc->Show Messages" option from the menu.

Also are you using Forceware 93.71 drivers?

It is possible when folder "FONTS" is present and contain 2 BMP files.

Exactly

Yes it is possible.

The message problem is probably with the drivers. I have got this report from two other users and they also use Forceware 93.71 drivers. You should report to NVidia.
