I don't want to bring any politics into here so I won't discuss the background story, but this book looks really good and has tons of interviews with oldschool Japanese developers.

The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers is up on Amazon. I ordered it and I should get it next week, I'll take some pictures and post a review when it comes in!

This book is massive. I was expecting it to be more of a light read / coffee table conversation piece style thing with a lot of art and design drawings like Sega Genesis/Megadrive Collected Works. Instead it's a big crunchy compilation of interviews, anecdotes, and history and it's serious reading. I'm going to need to finish up the novels and stuff I've got queued up before I can do a proper review of it. It's definitely awesome though.

HI,

thanks for the notice of this book - I bought it myself and have been reading it. This really is a 'developers' ' centric book - forget all the fluffy feelings that marketing people have this is really useful for Developers and I recommend it.

Cheers,

Minty.
