WakeOnLan my Genny

OK, I have something which could be see as silly but I'd like to control the power on / off on my genny

My Genny is connected to a (linux) thin client with USB output
I'd like to send a signal to power on or off my Genny.

Of course, I could use a relay like http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/index.p ... _(digital) but since I don't really feel like playing with 220V AC, I wonder if i would be possible to play with the 10V DC ?

220V => AC Adapter => USB toy => genny

My main goal is to control power and reset switch but since it requires some genny mod, I keep it for later ;)

Any hint ?

The folks over at TASvideos.org set up a system where an original Nintendo could be powered on remotely via a python script. It was created so that multiple people could collaborate on tool assisted speed runs and make sure that they work properly on actual hardware. You can see it in action at 14:35 in this video https://youtu.be/Jn8rpP3Xc9I?t=14m35s (though there isn't much of an explanation about how it works or how things are wired up).

I'm sure dwangoAC would gladly answer any questions you have about how it's set up. He's always in the TASBot IRC channel which can be reached via http://chat.TASBot.net or #tasbot on Freenode IRC.

How about this? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4-Chann ... 62414.html

Also, is power-over-ethernet worth looking into?
