GOAC - Genesis on a chip

Post by Matej » Mon Apr 08, 2013 6:35 am

I found this article:
http://benheck.com/Games/Sega_projects/ ... Exodus.htm

Can someone tell me who manufacture "Genesis on a chip" (GOAC) chips???
Or MDOAC too (PAL Megadrive).

I'm not sure who manufactures the GOAC chips, but you'll find quite a lot of cheap chinese Genesis clones using those.

Unfortunately the SoC console designs seem to have given way to the "Let's use dog s--- emulation on an ARM and call that a console" approach. Which is really a shame. I mean the emulation is truly terrible. I can get better results on a Raspberry Pi using free software.

Better results, maybe, but not a lower cost or decreased size. I also would like to know where to get a glob top genny. If the only option is to rip it from a $40 "flashback" then yeah, I will choose the Pi any day.
