After some weeks of tests and customization, SpritesMind's forum is now open.
Devega seems dead, so we needed a new place for information and experience sharing.
I hope you'll like this place.
I'm trying to make it the best for your needs :
- one forum by system
- one hidden forum for experienced users
- project forums : if you have a project with other people, send me a PM, I'll open you a private forum
You need to be registered to post message. Only "Kaneda's stuff" is open to public.
Oh, and think to read the rules, they are easy to follow

Maybe we can setup a files area for libs/demos/etc...Stef wrote:Yeah !!!!!!!
Thanks Kaneda, finally someone did it !
I guess that will be a small but very sympatic community
I posted a link about my minimal genesis devkit in the genesis forum. I would like to improve the "libraries" and keep it regulary updated
My Frog Feast source code (http://frogfeast.rastersoft.net/SegaCDSrc.html) has some routines that might be useful, and they're already in gcc/as format.Stef wrote:I posted a link about my minimal genesis devkit in the genesis forum. Just a supposition as i don't know when i'll be back on that but : can i use your sources to add your functions to the mini dev kit's libraries ? can i also modify them a bit if needed (to keep a sort of "standard" in name and call) ?
Of course, i'll mention your name somewhere (i say somewhere because i don't have and readme.txt file for now). My goal is not to plebicit "my" devkit, be just to offer a simple, easy and light solution for genesis development

Yep, use whatever you can. And, renaming isn't a problem either.Stef wrote:Just a supposition as i don't know when i'll be back on that but : can i use your sources to add your functions to the mini dev kit's libraries ? can i also modify them a bit if needed (to keep a sort of "standard" in name and call) ?

Thank.Stef wrote:I just checked your sources. Your code is really well written, i do like
I need to get the Genesis version of the source up shortly. They contain better DMA routines, since the Sega CD has a problem with DMA timing.
Does anyone know how to correctly use DMA on the Sega CD? I was told it had something to do with adjusting the source (or destination) address.
Just found this, Awesome Kaneda! Ever since devega's forum went down (there was a LOT of great info there) I've been somewhat unmotivated. But this looks awesome. Lots of new things to try and get going. I'll have a new project done soon (not Genny Wars unfortunately , something easier to complete).
Great to see so many awesome genesis development celebs here too.

Genny Wars (Someday.. )
Heyhey
Can't wait to see your new baby, Edge!
Maybe we should rename this topic in "presentations" I think its a missing thing in this board

There is a two byte shift when you start a DMA... I don't remember if its a shift on destination or source... sorry.
