A note from a newcomer to the forum: I would be happy to pay 1 USD per year to pay for the running costs of the forum.
One US dollar per year is bearable by even the poorest of us and if every registered user had to do that, this would pay way more than the needed costs, thus allowing investment in other areas (wiki, etc.) or reducing the needed price even further (50c per year or 4$ for 8 years.).
I frequent quite a few forums around these woods and the same topic pops up again and again when there is such a simple and cheap solution available.
