2gen BIOS version 2008.07.05: http://srb2town.sepwich.com/junk/2genbios.bin (same link again :P) Now you can format the SRAM (you'll even be warned if you try to reformat it). It also has sound :P I guess that putting a background would make it look way better... Also I would want info about what yo...

I knew somebody was going to say that... But it's empty (yes, I rechecked just now). Doesn't take make Fusion store SRM files in the folder it's being run on?

EDIT: nevermind, found it, it's on C:\ o_O

Weird SRAM issue. And I really mean it...

Yes, another topic :P OK, now I have a weird issue with SRAM. It isn't that it isn't being saved... it is. But no idea where. Yes, I checked all directories where Fusion may be saving it, but nothing. It isn't that it looks like SRAM is saved but it isn't, I checked and the data remains there (I clo...

A cart fryer for an homebrew game? What are you thinking about? He never said he was going to use it, the discussion started with the fact Megaman X3 had it :/ Seriously, I'm quite sure a lot of companies would want to be able to do the same on discs right now... Which proves that pirates are way b...

How it turns out pirate games are the hardest to pirate? >_> Most pirate games have some kind of problem (difficulties whiles dumping, problems with emulators, custom hardware, etc.). EDIT: you know that with all this we're just giving more stuff for Tiido to make the ultimate protection system, rig...

Because the killing device would get enabled only by accessing a specific part of the ROM, not it all. Reading the start up code wouldn't kill the ROM. Then the 68k sends something that disables the kill until power off, and the MD can read it. Quite simple. A copier simply can't do that unless it's...

Do you know how many companies (specially Nintendo) would have liked to have such a system back then (and would like to be able to do something similar on discs now)...

Not as expensive as a legal Windows Windows price is about same ($130 for Vista Home Premium SP1, $95 on Amazon for now). And you can get OEM version when buy new computer, it price will be included but much cheaper than retail versions anyway. It used to be $199. And anyways, you mentioned the Hom...

Holy crap!!! That is way too expensive for me. Not as expensive as a legal Windows ;) I'm not sure that VSync will work with TV-out. 800x600 can be displayed through TV out, but it can't be displayed with TV timings directly. The reported refresh rate is halved and VSync works respect to it, right?...

The doc states that both channels can have the special mode, through look at the values (D7-D6): 00: No special mode 01: Special mode for channel 3 1X: Illegal Maybe D7 was supposed to enable special mode for channel 6 but it didn't work? (or somebody was so stupid to do the test with the DAC enable...

It would be enabled by just writing something with the 68k. A copier is never capable of doing this, so making it dump-proof. You would need to modify your copier to be able to dump the ROM. Or worse - it could destroy the rom. Megaman X3 had this problem iirc. You need to do something really wrong...

I've just remembered: There no HW protection, I think. I once heard those cartridges do have some kind of protection :/ Shouldn't be hard to crack it through, but I wonder if it's a dump protection. You may say, whatever that the MD can read can be read by a copier. OK, now, let's suppose there's cu...

I guess nobody dumped that ROM because it's just a translation? :P (yes, I know some glitches were fixed, but still it's mainly a translation)

I think you're talking about one of those anti-monopoly cases. Seriously, if it's like you say, then why can even small pieces of code that don't do much have a license if the author wants? And licenses often involve copyrights, even the GPL. It's not the size of the code that matters it's the fact...

You can grab the original sample and MD2 sample here Now is when I want one of those sound editors working :/ (gosh, I've just noticed I have lots of drawing programs installed of all kinds and that I never use o_o'). Edit: I talked with Charles and he said that you need to poll the busy flag befor...
