It would be quite possible to make a DMA chipset (that copy a memory to another memory)... But a homemade CPU that execute nops ^^... haha... Ho, i'm very away from all those things ^^. I remember my cousin had to make a cpu out of transistors at poly's, it was just doing additions and a few other t...

Wow :) Btw, you might be able to cleverly mix 1M and 2M ram modes (so you can always keep 128KB for z80 and the other 128KB alternatively on megacd or megadrive side for the undécoded VGM file... That's just an idea. I would not suggest to bus request the megacd pgrm ram... I do it for tavern rpg an...

Hi shiru, About the long : 34 bit... its just a typo... its 32bit too :) Well, I never installed XGCC, I just put the content in c:/xgcc and put the xgcc.bat in the c:/ root and its done :) And to compile, you first execute c:/xgcc.bat and then c:/yourproject/compile.bat (without closing the window)...

Maybe I had a older version... strange. No, I was not dreaming, it has really some crazy bugs... Most of them are coming randomly on big project. The bug that was happening systematically was the while(1){} one and the & and | thing. I don't remember the exact cases, sorry. KanedaFR will confirm. Fo...

By SGCC, you mean the very light exe suite to compile some md stuff, right? The one without any .ld. Was my fav and first compilator... very easy to install and crazy easy to use ! :D Well, kanedaFR can tell you all the bugs we could find... Most of them are scary... I remember lot of bugs around po...

I did compare speed :) Mightymighty Missile was programmed in a very loopy/linear way, so, when I went from SGCC to GCC (with a lot of pain, defining Volatiles & stuff) my fps counter exploded! I don't have precise values, and I don't know if it came from my programming method... But with -O 4 on GC...

Does someone know what happen if display is disabled during line scanning period (clearing VDP register 01 bit 6) ? From my tests... You can disable anytime the rendering (not the vdp)... the Hsync/Vsync will continue to work and the TV wont loose sync. When rendering is turned off, you get the DMA...

Well, dropping 32pixels (224-32 = 192) isn't a real trouble compared to the crazy power you get in exchange :P Top of that, "software" rendered games will never been fullscreen... So! :D And yeah, I'm in 256px width mode :) If you would be ready to cut 32 pixels on top and 32pixels on bottom of scre...

208? That's it? Well, I guess it's a record until someone claims otherwise. Congratulations! Any irony? :P I thought the limit for a normal VBLANK was around 128 tiles or so... Anyway, I got my demo running on real hardware... It indicates 75 frames rendered for 50 DMAted and 60frames rendered for ...

Yeah, I have no problem at all using XGCC or whatever.. But I'm just stuck when it comes to explaining how to add a .s file to a devkit that I don't have installed and where the linking/compilation process seems a bit automatized ;P So, someone that use Stef devkit, would mind to explain what to do ...
