I believe the z80 almost exclusively plays music in the Sonic games. It sits in a tight loop manipulating the ym2612 and sn76489, usually using the vblank interrupt for timing. I'm more interested in the Megadrive 1 and the Mega CD than anything else so I sent my donation to Kaneda. I'm fine with whatever you guys decide on though as long as you digitize it. I was planning on donating here for all the help you guys gave me with my ym2612 bringup anyway.
