Woow nice to see the magic VDP on FPGA - cool!
I'd be glad to see VDP in VHDL source that synthesizes in xilinx ise as well Ok, ok verilog will do as well, it's just that I dont speak it
Excellent work and keep it up!

Out of the ones (these few) explicitly posted there (not 8bc) I personally find the GigaMan's "wereseal" to be the most musical example :) Maybe could be improved a little by turning volumes down of some channels and instruments, but that's details. I mean not like the demo style music where prevail...

As things stand today, I don't have the money anyway. I'm now married with a mortgage and a baby on the way. $90 sounds like a fortune now. lol Ohh, you poor guy, I feel sorry for you :) Good luck! :)) Well first I thought that MEFAS is in UK or somewhere near, yet then I found out they are in US, ...

Hey, Nemesis , may I ask - how far are you with 2612 decapping? I think interest in details about the chip has not faded in any way. $90? Is that all a professional decap costs? Hmm, for $90 I might pay to get the YM2612 decapped myself. In fact, I think I will. I'll need to pick myself up a good di...

Here are some more bugfix/improvements requests regarding current regen (another truckload, previous mentioned ones are still actual as well): * Sharpness loss on display (non exact size / resizing takes place for some reason), check "didge" "oldschool" and "stateside" letters: www.dtech.lv/sega_dev...

Interesting game, quite qell programmed (it seems). If guys will release full rom bin into public domain, along with "the one remining bug to squish" - it would be definitely cool. But I don't think so. The desperation to squeeze down to the last penny out of every long ago abandoned project is high...

And I almost forgot: * In Z80 memory viewer, if you scroll past real 8k memory and (probably) 68k mem window, you get the regen to crash softly (just close) * Z80 memory view should show where does currently the z80-->68k window is set to point, there could also be an option to force it to point els...

Eteream: What I'd say there is that there ARE a lot of games that do constantly or casually update tile data in VRAM. Contra simply could not be the only game (even if I haven't ever checked any other) because it shares engine with other games - for example Rocket Knight Adventures... Generaly same ...

Things I'd love to see improved/fixed in upcoming Regen: * 68000 RAM/ROM edit could allow direct entry/writing into memory like in FCEUX for NES. * For the current address and data entry there sould be not only byte but word entry available, too. I think, however, that such an entry is not necessary...

(A short reply due to lack of time at the moment) HINT and VINT - horisontal and vertical interrupt, realy work well on genny, in contrast to pc cga/ega/vga hell :) Sonic3 and many other games use hint for water. Regarding reprogramming - challenge is everything! :D To have large, interesting levels...

Regarding "I am getting Sprite Limit reached on SMD ! Sad NOOOOOOO!" Actually, if you do things right, you are unlikely to reach that limit, unless background is white noise that needs to be preserved losslessly. I am writing down all this stuff from my (about 10 year old) memories, so correct me wh...

Excellent advice, HardWareMan. Ribbon wire with every odd/even wires as GND will not only fight crosstalk but also an even more tragical issue related to return current surges. If there are, for example, 20 address wires and one gnd wire, the capacity and leakage in chip inputs to gnd will cause gnd...

Depends on what you already know and feel familiar with. I remember back in the days (probably a decade ago) I wrote my own map/tile convertor that could optimize to as many tiles as necessary (by finding the closest looking ones), and used glitchy sasm (remember having problems with >128k programs)...

TmEE, in your country xilinx representative is Silica (Avnet) most likely - can give you direct representatives in Poland (I'm from LV). Closest Actel's representatives are in LT, but they require signing NDA and safety stuff in person and wait for verification. Lattice are a bit clumsy CPLDs (resou...
