Re: 10 years!!!

Oh dang! Nice. Happy Birthday!

Can't say I've contributed anything, and my older posts are pure cringe. But this place is still amazing. :)

Re: Questions on developing a Mega Drive emulator

Yeah but on the SNES you are heavily limited in colours and background layers if you use the interlaced mode. On the Megadrive you are pretty much only limited by whether you have enough VRAM to fill up the twice as big screen with enough graphics. That probably explains why it was only used in spl...

Out of respect to the game developers, why should Regen or any other Genesis emulators support Pier Solar? Why not just purchase the game instead? There's a reason why it has the copy protection it has. For some people, it may be more convenient to be able to play Pier Solar on a personal computer....

Congrats Kaneda, I'm just a little late! She's almost 6 months old, right? Two is better to play 2-players MegaDrive games  With one of these, you'd need four: http://s.ecrater.com/stores/88021/4c8ebd0c9503a_88021n.jpg Don't forget the J-Carts with the controller connectors in-cart additionally!

I'm surprised I didn't notice the nudity.

This could be a sign that I could be seeing too much as it is. :P

This Mega Drive is both mundane and boring. Only interesting thing about it is that you can't see how badly I scrubbed the label off the doner cart, for the Everdrive.

Sorry for the delay, but I wish you much luck! But if I'm any indication, you'll be debugging her for the next 19 years and counting... :P

This happens with pretty every game that writes to the CRAM during the active display. It's not unique to Samauri Showdown.

Look at any Sonic game with a water level on actual hardware. You'll get garbage on that too.

Edit: I just reread it... does he literally mean the entire line?

I'm kind of an idiot myself, but usually when I process PCM samples for the Mega Drive, I find myself working with them as a mono unsigned/signed 8-bit PCM format, and from what I gather, the hardware can't really handle playback rates higher than 26KHz. I use Goldwave myself to either rip samples o...

This demo also is doing something funny, and it causes it on fail on certain MD2 models. My V0 MD2 with 315-5476 goes crazy on the 3D part, while my Nomad does not. I have not tried with other MD2s. Other people report the problem too. Which 3D part are we talking about here? The stars or the line ...

Reading this ended up getting me to think of the comparisons between video games and movies. Specifically, from my understanding, the amount of effort needed to get a movie going increases linearly the more work that needs to be done, whereas the amount of effort for games increases quadratically (t...

Subscribe to the mailing list on this store. I managed to snag my Everdrive just in time thanks to the mailing list! :)

They take credit card, yes. I'd recommend getting a PayPal anyway, however. You'll find it convenient in future.
