You must use simple compression for background, and update only tiles which changes from previous frame. If your animation will be looks like SMD special stage (many flat-shaded areas), you'll be able to update screen fast enough. In best case you'll even not need to update tileset, only nametable. ...

evildragon wrote:How do I even begin to simulate 3D like that on the NES?
If you skilled enough to make NES game, you must easily see what there is no any 3D in special stage of Sonic 2, it's just animation with low framerate. And it's not hard to implement on NES, of course.

As much I have messed with YM2612, I've discovered, that 1 NOP instead of WaitBeforeYM2612ReadyLoop does all the job, at least on my MD2. Only 70KHz DAC playback silenced it after a while. Small optimization  Afaik, built-in DAC (which used for FM synth) into YM2612 has samplerate about 50-60...

I will love TFMMaker Sega MD edition for sure... But I will track some tunes on original too - I hope I will hear it on real ZX one day on 8bit party. TFM and SMD compatible with some limitations - TFM has more advanced PSG (2xAY) but has no DAC (at least while playing music in background). So it's...

So the 6 bits DAC still sounds a lot better :p It's without any doubts. Separate busy register ??? you mean if the address register is modified, the busy state can be different ? Yes, seems like to (this tests with real hardware was done by Alone Coder, and he has come to such opinion). Yep, but we...

But fullscreen mode is not bad idea... I don't think it can give any additional usability. I even can't remember any tracker with Windows-based interface, which has fullscreen mode. Can you explain which advantage can give fullscreen in comparison with maximized window? What about left 3 channels f...

About Loop parameter in order-list. Well either way is fine as long as you can make subsongs within the same module :) Sub-tracks is a space-saving feature, and they just don't planned for this editor. For better output data compression purposes, it's possible to merge some tracks together in compi...

All for TR-DOS disk system, so you must use emulator with TR-DOS support. For example, Unreal Speccy . Chip Tracker 1.3 - 4ch, for AY/Covox...

You should add a shortcut for semi-note and octave transpose though Which keys I must assign for this operations (Ctrl+..)? Transpose operations also available in pattern menu (press right mouse button on selected block). In future versions I also plan to add full shortcut redefine support. This is...

Will PSG and PCM support ever be added? Not in close future, but maybe later. By current moment, editor develops mainly for TFM device. SMD compatibility in FM part is a something like free bonus. When editor will reach for stable version (with all planned features in FM part, better usability, and...

Why you search for mp3? You'll get a twice lose in sound quality if you find it, because it will be ripped and recompressed from japanese version of game. Maybe you need jap version of game itself?

Funny, I not knew that SCD version had vocal in intro (I mainly played in PSX port of arcade version).

I forgot to say. Because player uses packed stream of registers data, it's completely independent from editor. It mean next things: - Editor can be modified and improved, and it does not require player update/improve - Player can be used to play data from any editor (they must have VGM/GYM export fu...

Z80 SMD driver is updated. Fixed (and rewritten) initialization of YM2612, removed duplicated code of channels processing by using macro.

rapidshare or mediafire (only z80 source code).
