Oh, certainly not. There'd be little point in that. I wonder, though, how it's broken up in the existing 32X DOOM port...

What do you mean?

Actually, if you're saying wat I think you're saying, DOOM could work just fine on 32X; have the 68000 run the game engine (i.e. player movement, collisions, etc.) and have one SH-2 render the odd columns and one render the even columns - that's the beauty of a raycaster engine.

I'm convinced 32X DOOM suffered mainly from shoddy workmanship and severely limited space (the original game is 10MB, the 32X cartridge is 3MB.) Although it doesn't run at a slower rate than the original the way SNES DOOM does, there are significant chokeup points (especially in "outdoor" parts,) wh...

Question: it was established a while ago that the YM2612 has SSG after all, right? But...I seem to recall talk of some quirks; which (if any) SSG patterns are buggy or don't function?

Here's a different peripheral question: I've read that Saturn controllers are compatible with the Genesis; do they function as 6-button controllers, or what?

Glad to hear it. I'm working on "Rain" (the B-side to "Paperback Writer.") I plan to use them as menu music in...get ready for this...a 32X CD version of Badger Badger Badger.

I'm only moderately experienced with OPx chips, but here are some songs. dan.tfe, seven.tfe, stealth.tfe, zeppelin.tfe: These are covers of songs from Jill Of The Jungle, which, being a DOS game, used the SoundBlaster OPL2 for the music. I've been pondering writing a Genesis and/or Sega CD port of J...

Hah, if only he could mass-produce that sans hard drive and modem, which you could supply yourself...we could have a lot of fun with that.

Yeah, it's usually sector padding (don't know why burner programs don't just pad automatically, or at least have an option to do so...)

Anyway, use CDRWin. It's good, even in unregistered mode.

I've thought about the possibility of a Genesis OS before. The only real problem is the lack of writable media. Someone should hack up a combination RAM cart/IDE cart with a PS/2 keyboard controller and a little BIOS ROM to load an OS off an attached hard drive =)

Here's a question: how do you insert a key-off? Someone already mentioned that it's implemented, but I can't figure out how to do it.

There's actually been a source port of Descent 2 to Windows, so it's definitely feasible to make another version from the source. If I were doing it I'd do it for 32X CD, as that means more RAM and unlimited storage space (i.e. no cutting out of textures or simplifying of levels to fit in a cartridg...
