Re: Algorithm for splitting sprites

Yes, I think that would probably work better. You might have a button to try one of the algorithms, show the result, and let the dev do any changes to make it better.

It's the clouds.
And the ground... and the mountains in the back... it's all VERY similar to SOTB. Not exactly the same, but it does stir the nostalgia. 8)

Heh - nice use of the Shadow of the Beast background art. :D I loved the hell out of that series. It really demonstrated the best aspects of the Amiga.

Re: Example of point'n'click adventure engine (SecondBASIC).

You don't necessarily need to use a name, just some kind of feedback. A number of games change the pointer shape depending on how (or if) you can interact with the object under the pointer.

That's actually pretty cool. Nice variation on the pong/breakout genre.

Did you ever imagine it?
That's pretty cool. I wonder how many other games that could apply too...

Re: undefined reference to main

Shouldn't that ref be "_main"? Looks like the compiler isn't adding the underscore. There's an option for that, but I forget what it is offhand.

Thanks. I wish more devs would do this. Even unfinished code is useful to some folks.

Re: Cartridge bigger than 32Mbits ?

A quick look at the source shows v1.x doesn't look for "SSF" in the rom header when setting the options. v2 does. Thanks for posting about it. It may help someone else later, and let's us know we weren't crazy as your code looked fine. :D

Re: Cartridge bigger than 32Mbits ?

You shouldn't be writing to 0xA130E6 unless you're trying to use the SD or USB. Also, how are you determining what is being read? Maybe it's working, but you're not displaying the value correctly to see it's working.

Re: Cartridge bigger than 32Mbits ?

You set RV, but do you unset it afterwards? You should also have ints disabled around setting these registers unless you can guarantee that it won't disturb any ints and/or won't be disturbed by ints.

Re: TF530 as MD 68030 turbocard?

ColdFire lacks a lot of instructions though, and the ones that remain aren't even encoded the same way from what I gather =/ May as well throw in a 2GHz ARM CPU instead. The CF68KLib allows most ColdFire processors to run 68k code; it supports 68000, 68020, 68030, 68EC040, 68EC060, CPU32, and CPU32...

Would be interesting to see what a ~26MHz 68000 could do.
Or ColdFire at 260 MHz.
