Thanks Stef. OK I will learn BasiEgaxorz. By the way, do you have any links to examples (or just screenshots) of games or apps made with BasiEgaxorz, or BASIC in general? The 'Demonstration Example Code' link on the BasiEgaxorz site doesn't work. I'm having issues finding any images of games made wi...

Assembler is a tool that translates 'source code' (which is 'assembly code' in this case) - human-readable representation of code, into 'machine code' - binary data representation of the code that is executed by CPU. Ah yes, I do know what an assembler is, but thank you for the heads up. It's good ...

Oh right, yes I see what you mean. I should have given more details, I'd forgotten what the book actually suggests by the title, and what I originally started reading it for. Basically I started reading it to gain more of an understanding of programming in general. I've struggled to really understan...

Good books for learning Assembly Language?

It's been a long time, but I'm back now... well, kinda. I'm still trying to learn, but having problems. Assembly Language Step-by-Step - Programming with Linux, 3rd Edition (2009, by Jeff Duntemann). I've been reading this book, at about page 100. Is this book good for learning how to program for Me...

It seems to me that overclocking is a bit pointless nowadays. I think that the problem with this topic going on a tangent, is that it's mostly about pixel art, which we have kind of exhusted now. Besides just practicing it, there isn't much else to say. This thread may be coming to an end, I'm afrai...

Amiga kicked the ass off Apple That's for sure. I went with the Amiga when I switched from 8 bit to 16 bit as the Mac was a laugh compared to the Amiga, and we don't even want to mention PCs of that era. I had an Atari 520 ST(m) around that time. Recently booted it up actually, still works! Q...

Trust me Jedite01, I'm not lucky. You just don't know the details of my lame life. For example, I haven't mentioned that this final degree year is a retake. I failed it last time, and now I'm paying to retake it, which is taking me to an early grave. I admire your enthusiasum Jedite01, but yeah the ...

I shouldn't have brought up the copyright issue anyway. Only said it so I didn't have to explain in more detail. But basically, whatever the legal issues are, it doesn't matter because my teachers wouldn't be very happy if my degree film featured Sonic the Hedgehog, lol. I wouldn't wanna do that any...

Concerning finding things on the street, I'm not usually that lucky. Also I don't actually know if it works coz I don't have any games. The games are quite expensive on ebay :( Um yeah, it can be about anything. Well, I guess it would be advised against doing anything based on copyrighted material. ...

Yeah, maybe. Perhaps it will be a Sega Pico, something I know longer need because I just found one ON THE STREET! How weird is that?! The chances of that are tiny. No games though :P Sorry, I apologise to the powers that be, I keep posting off topic, I shall not do it again. Hay, heres a question th...

Haha, it's interesting to hear a 15 year old say " so much stuff to do". Also, you shouldn't spend all day and night in front of the PC, it will mess with your eyes. I had terrible eye strain as a games tester   There is simply not too much specific in MD art - pretty much the same as f...

Wow Jedite01, that was fast. I may be stating the obvious, but the tutorials on that site that Jedite01 has made me aware of, Pixel Joint, has links to plenty of Pixel Art tutorials. I am currently having a look at them, some of which are links to tutorials which I remember looking at years ago. I d...
