Pier Solar

It is a work of 4 years of Fonzie and I, and also, of all the members of team that joined us along the way. And it is out! Our public beta has been finally released! Please take a look on our website: http://www.piersolar.com . It is on the Media section. There's a readme explaining what will change...

I need help! I've been working in a song on TFM MM 1.3, 5:26 lenght, 37 patterns. No matter what I do, when I save the song it always saves like a blank file, that is, when I reload the file it won't bring anything back to the patterns. Now regarding data it is saving 21 kb, and when I look at it on...

Re: Moved to XP SP3, and XGCC troubles :/

I can't compile anymore Piersolar project :/ Plop! This is bad! But I agree on cdoty, seems more like you're missing a file than some execution error. "Le système ne peut pas executer le programme spécifié" The system cannot execute the specified program. Really, seems to me more like it can't find...

4. Timers Two things here. First of all, I've tested the timer A registers, and confirmed that they are NOT "ganged together" like the frequency registers are. Changes to either register $24 or $25 affect Timer A the next time it overflows or is loaded, regardless of the order the registers are wri...

Btw, I haven't seen any concrete report on the famous channel 3 special mode which would allow individual operators to be set on different frequencies. As far as I know most tests on that feature failed to succeed, maybe wrong documentation again? What you mean 'failed'? This mode works well both i...

It would work well for Portuguese, though, and most romance languages, except for French which has lots of irregularities... interesting, very nice. Btw, I haven't seen any concrete report on the famous channel 3 special mode which would allow individual operators to be set on different frequencies....

Those things can be very productive.

In 2004 I took part with my GennyPong into Metalix's Devega Winter/Summer contest and thanks to it I learned a lot about MD programming.

Something important to know : if you test your code on real hardware the "--pad-to" option have to be 128 KB boundary and greater than your rom size. If your rom size is ~900 KB then you must replace "--pad-to 131072" by "--pad-to 1048576" and it won't work on real hardware. If someone know how for...

I never pad any of my stuff, no problems on real HW.. I usually unpad homebrew to get faster programming times :) Not true for all flash systems. Tototek flasher software will trim your game data if the rom is not aligned to a 2^x multiple, and that obviously will generate unexpected results at som...

Shiru, that was quite harsh. The fact that you have many years of experience doesn't mean anything; we never stop learning. It doesn't matter if Sik said you something you already knew, this behaviour of yours is despisable. And stop to be emo, Sik, almost nobody (except for a few ones) is arguing ...

Back on the topic, what's the true purpose or advantage of having a 2gen bios, given the fact that it will never make to the hardware? Or do you plan to have this bios on the game itself and override the md bios if present? Btw Pier Solar is scheduled for start shipping October 29 if no disaster occ...

I sort of disagree with the naming convention of 2gen because in MD age we've seen more than 1 generation of games, as we have seen them on every single console up to today. You can cal 1st Generation the one that was release within the 1st year of the console, usually featuring less complex graphic...
