Some scene wars could be interesting. ;)

Sounds great - MD dev scene definetly needs something as comprehensive as this. I look forward to contributing and learning from the site, good luck!

words Basically, what Shiru said. It's a hobby, but also a unique way of expression that is closely related to the limitations of hardware. If you can't see that, you might be in the wrong forum. Musicians don't use Gameboys because it's better than Logic or Cubase. I have slowly begun to look at 6...

Thanks Shiru. I was advised to start with C++ from a friend, since it would be a better introduction? I just downloaded Visual C++ 2008 Express...

Ok, so what's a good if I want to learn C for MD? C for Dummies? :) Should I begin coding for the PC or could I go with MD right away? Where can I find the C compiler?

From square one

Okay, so I'd like to at least attempt some Mega Drive development. I have the flashcart and the coding / ASM tutorial from Devega so I guess I could start from there. However, I have never coded anything in my entire life (except for some "hello world" stuff in C++, many years ago, of which I rememb...

Yes, that was my point. There's been some very cool C64, Amiga, MSX etc productions lately. I think it could be at least as interesting as a new MD game. I think I'm going to try to learn some ASM...

Are you saying that there's little that is unique about the MD, Shiru? That's disappointing to hear. Well I guess there's some cinematic and aesthitic effects that could be made good use of regardless of system.

Demo productions

Is anyone interested in producing Amiga style demo productions? Is there enough knowledge yet to program interesting and impressive effects? I can't wait for some actual releases, and I'd really like to partake in some (as a music composer and sound designer). For those who are not familiar with the...

Normally, if the cart work fine on megadrive, it should not be damaged (its the same mechanism)... So its either the cable or your EPP that went bad (due to a windows update?) :) Hmm, sounds reasonable. Unfortunately my laptop is unable to handle EPP devices (or so it seems) so I cannot try it anyw...

Problems with flash cart

My 64M flash cart from tototek used to work fine just a few days ago, but today my computer didn't recognize the cart. I've checked all settings in BIOS and it's still set to EPP, I've tried all different versions of DreamWriter that are availiable through tototeks homepage. The cart works fine when...
