CDDA oddities
Hello everyone. Directly to the point: Since months ago, I noticed that CDDA doesn't play with USA 1.10 BIOS, only after going to the BIOS setup settings; if the BIOS sequence is inmediately skipped, it works entirely normal. With JAP BIOS, the CDDA simply doesn't play (though the LED keeps turned o...

Secondary results while Halting the Sub-CPU
Hello everyone. I have been experimenting accessing the PRG-RAM from Main-CPU; done by sending a BUSREQ to the Sub (So it halts). I tried putting an infinite loop in PRG-RAM for Main-CPU, just for testing purposes. While the Sub keeps in BUSREQ status, I noticed the "activity" led from Gens keeps tu...

CDDA not playing correctly at 50Hz
Hello everyone. I have a friend, who tests my game on his SegaCD. He have an American SegaCD, but his TV only supports PAL color mode, so, in order to run it, I have to send him a USA version of my hack, and once his console boots up at 60Hz, with a switch, he moves his console back to 50Hz so it sh...

Freeze the screen while updating the VRAM
Hello guys. I'm trying to play an animation in the whole screen, by updating its 8x8 tiles and the palette. The problem is, is possible to see how the palette and the tiles updates in the screen. I tried to get rid of this problem by freezing the screen, by disabling the display and interrupts meanw...

To burn the CD...
Hello guys.
Here I come again, with possibly the most stupid question ever.
My question is: How to record the ISO, and the MP3 files as CDDA tracks on a common CD?

Access the sub-cpu code from the main cpu
Hello guys.
I have a seen a Sega CD source code today... I'm unable to understand it all because of its mess, but, I think, sometimes it reads and writes data directly from the Sub-CPU.
Is it possible to access this code from the main cpu? If yes, at which address?

Image scaling and/or simple 3D rendering
Hello everyone, I come here again with a new but maybe stupid question. Is there some example code in ASM of basic image scaling or 3D rendering for 32x, or at least, the basic formula of this? Because, to tell the truth, I have nearly a null knowledge about geometry . Again, thanks for your he...

Write text to the BIOS screen
Hello everyone. I tried to write the word "NOT" to the BIOS screen from my game's code (to make it read " NOT PRODUCED BY OR UNDER LICENSE FROM SEGA ENTERPRISES LTD."); I've already tried to do something similar with the Sega CD's BIOS before, with success. But now, trying with the MD BIOS, seems li...

A question regarding the video chip
Hi, everyone.
First of all, I must thank all of you for your answers in other questions =)
I have another question: Could you tell me, how I can use the 3D chip from the Sega CD? I have no a minimal idea about this.
Thanks for your help, and excuse my bad english.
