Re: Spot That Demo - Overdrive 2 Edition

I've seen a C64 port of Second Reality, so anything is possible. It was impressively accurate. As accurate as a C64 port could be. It would be interesting to see how close a MD version would come to the original. Watching Second Reality I get the feeling that a SNES would be a better pick for most o...

Spot That Demo - Overdrive 2 Edition

I've been watching Overdrive 2 again, and I suddenly noticed it: Arcade machine screens are displaying scenes from other well known scene demos! I spotted four of them, but the last one eludes me. I guess it's just too much white scene noise inside my head. It's familiar somehow, but I can't really ...

Re: Titan's Mega Drive tech docs including Debug Register

For years my go to emulator for Sega's stuff has been Fusion 3.64, but since the homebrew scene seems to be about breaking all emulation in an and all ways possible, what's the best alternative right now? I'm looking for something simple so I can grab an occasional screenshot every now and then, and...

바리잣 by Limp Ninja

Yet another scene release for the Megadrive. Limp Ninja gives us some vertical raster bars squeezed into 512b. I can't read Hangul, so I couldn't tell you how to pronounce the title. Get it here . Edit: I tried running it on real hardware, but it appears to be PAL only. Man ... I seriously need to h...

That's like a packaging inception. Seriously though, if the re-release has the same cartridge case and the key ring, I'm sold. I only played through the demo, because I don't want to spoil all of the fun for myself.

Re: Large ROM images and Sega CD + 32X

No, it doesn't, the ROM and the rest of the hardware facing the Mega Drive side are indeed active. The only difference is that the cartridge and expansion port swap places, but both of them are always active regardless of the situation. This shows how much I know about the inner workings of Wonderm...

Large ROM images and Sega CD + 32X

Okay, so I got my Everdrive X7 and all was well until I tried running some large homebrew images on a Wondermega. As soon as tried an image exceeding 32 megabit, I got an error message prompting me to unplug the CD and 32X add-ons. The problem is, Wondermega, just like CDX and X'Eye, has the CD modu...

Re: Miniplanets (single stage demo)

Excuse me for bumping an old thread, but whatever happened to Miniplanets? I did see a comment from Watermelon expressing some interest in publishing it a while back. I re-played the demo today and after a quick search I did not find it published anywhere. I hope it's still coming out!

Re: Escape 2042: demo

It's a damn shame the demo is so short, because the game is really enjoyable. I was hoping to try the repelling game as well. All the more reason to buy the full version. I'm kind of torn between getting both the GB and DC one or just the MD one. Haha. I'll have to think it over. Great work, though....

Re: Escape 2042: demo

Wow! This is great! I had no idea you had this in the works. The MegaDrive is really becoming a homebrew powerhouse lately. The Game Boy version looks sweet as well. I'll give the demo a try as soon as I get home, but the video is enough to really make me want to play it.

Re: What is love 8-bit

Whoa! ... This was made with no regard to size. Haha. Which is too bad, really. I just recently bought an Everdrive X7 to be able to run Overdrive 2 and other [big] homebrew offerings. And while everything does work fine on my regular PAL MegaDrive, huge ROMs won't run on my Wondermega, which is my ...

Re: OVERDRIVE II

Ok, so I have finally been able to test Overdrive 2 on real hardware. Both consoles used were MegaDrive II MK-1631-50. Strangely enough, one had only the slightest glitching on the robot, the same scene Jpg3D had issues with, and the other ran perfectly as far as graphics, BUT ... it lacked the PCM ...

Re: Star J - SHMUP in development

You can sign me up as well. I have a couple of EU MegaDrive Model 2 consoles and a Japanese WonderMega [by Sega, not Victor]. At the moment, I'm only able to test on the EU MD2, because I have no way of flashing to my MegaCart, and my Neo Myth doesn't work with WonderMega, but I'll be buying Mega Ev...

Re: OVERDRIVE II

Ok, so I dug up my Neo Myth MD cartridge, and while the first Overdrive runs without any issues, Overdrive 2 gives me the unsupported bank switching message. I can, however, run SSF2 by itself without issues. This would suggest the bank switching is emulated, but maybe not in the way Overdrive 2 exp...

Re: OVERDRIVE II

Simply amazing. I really hope this isn't Titan's last MegaDrive demo. I've seen the video, but for this one I'll have to dig up my PAL MD. Hopefully it will work with the clunky Neo Myth MD. I guess it's too big for the MegaCart. Not that I have a way of programming it on my current PC. One of these...
