Hi, please could you take a few minutes to look over the small schematic I made. The top shows a 8bit latch attached to D0..7, and by checking !LWR and !TIME via a NOR gate will latch the data bus on writes to $A130xx. Results then displayed on LEDs. The bottom shows 8 lines that are controlled via ...

Thanks for your replies guys, much better understanding now. What about when I need to read from my 'device' I must need to somehow put that data onto the data lines. What considerations should I take? Maybe the megadrive or my game ROM is already asserting the data lines. Is there a valid sequence ...

Using the /TIME line for more than bank switching?

Hi all, Probably a simple question. How are you guys making cartridges that take advantage of SD cards, USB ports, etc? Is it just the /TIME line or are other lines required too? I assume you are doing something along the lines of seeing what address is on the bus when the /TIME line is toggled then...

Very interesting cart, well done.

How does the USB interface work? Are you using a serial UART to USB or implementing some sort of 'HID' device?
Do you have any plans to release schematics and such?

Looks very nice, will be sure to give it a go soon.

Also should you not already be a member I recommend you also post this over at Sonic Retro.
Should easily get you the tech level membership there.

2- on my PC, there was a conflict with my modem ... you could achieve full speed USB2 on ATxx and not with FTDI That shouldn't of happened if 'they' used a different VIP/PID, FTDI supply them free of charge to anyone using their chips. However Atmel only give them out to bigger projects, no guarant...

I have used the FTDI chip before, really like it. Never had any problems with their D2XX drivers.
Also the support is very good, couple of times I have sent them emails and got replies within matter of hours.

Megadrive pins while in reset

Hi all,

Does anybody know the state of the address, data and control lines of the megadrive while it is being held in reset (hard and/or soft).
I'm hoping they are tri-state but would like someone to confirm.

Regards.
