Re: MDSDRV - new 68K sound driver for Mega Drive

It's possible to play sound effects on the PCM channels. Dynamic pitch adjustment of FM channels is certainly doable, but I haven't written any code for that yet...

MDSDRV - new 68K sound driver for Mega Drive

Hello all, I have developed a new sound driver for the Mega Drive. It runs on the 68000 (using the Z80 exclusively for PCM sample playback) and has the following features: Runs on the 68000 with the Z80 controlling PCM playback. 16 monophonic tracks that can be used for BGM or sound effects. Each tr...

Re: Active Disassembly - Post Processor

You don't have to complain about IDA anymore, Ghidra is free, supports the 68k/z80, has a decompiler (that works for said processors) and has been used by NSA for years. Regarding vasm, I'm not sure if it's a good choice for development as its license expressly forbid commercial use (and they say th...

Re: DefleMask Convert Tool

Too bad you forgot to honor the General Public License of dmf2esf and release the source code of your tool as required.

Yours truly, not Matt but the original author and copyright holder of dmf2esf.

Echo extended

Hello, I've not been active here in years, but a few months ago I made a fork of Sik's Echo sound driver. I shared it to a few people but then forgot about actually releasing it properly. What I did was to add fade outs (and a nice piano view in the Tester rom). I also did some modifications to be a...

Some other real polygon 3D games for the MD are are Hard Drivin', Race Drivin', F-15 Strike Eagle II, F-16 Interceptor and F-117 Night Storm. However those games runs in 10-15 FPS, that's without extra processors but it's still impressing for a home console system manufactured in 1988. :)

Maybe you should look more. This mod is for MD version 2. You said you were going to use Version 1.

Sega CD Silpheed might as well be a totally different game. From what I can tell even the enemy placements are different than the original Silpheed. I recommended the DOS version for two reasons. We would be able to see how much was actually in common between the two versions. I would be able to pl...

[quote="sheath"]I'd vote for the original Dos Silpheed

That game was already ported to the Mega CD.
